Stamp Duty

Stamp Duty Reserve Tax was introduced as a consequence of the Finance Act 1999. It became effective on 6 February 2000 and is effectively a liability of the trustee of the trusts and is a tax on unit transactions calculated using a prescribed formula which is based on surrenders of units over two week rolling periods. In consultation with the trustee, the Managers have decided that SDRT will be paid by each of the trusts. However, in exceptional circumstances, the Managers and the trustee may look to a unitholder to pay the SDRT, in which case the proceeds of the surrender will be reduced or the cost of a purchase increased.
